Geodrain

Geodrain; a kind of Geocomposite

Geodrain (Unidrain ) is a geocomposite consisting of a grid layer made of high-density polyethylene, called or dimpled sheet, and is produced with geotextile layers on one or both sides.

It is known that surface water and groundwater are major destruction factors of structures. Uncontrolled, they can cause serious damage to construction projects. The main application of geodrain is in conveying water from surfaces.

Description

Geodrains are polymer drains of various types, mentioned below:

  1. Geonets (polymer meshes)

These geodrains consist of one polyethylene mesh layer and two laminated geotextile layers.

This product is mainly used for drainage behind vertical and retaining walls, in tunnels and foundations, under parking lots and green spaces (in sports venues and stadiums), in landfills, etc.

  1. Dimpled sheet

These sheets are made of polyethylene and have channels between their dimples that can facilitate the conveyance of water from the soil into the layer and, hence, accelerate drainage.

This product can simultaneously act as a damp seal and as drainage.

  1. Dimpled drainage panel for roof garden

These are dimpled sheets of 2 cm height in the form of 50×50 meshed panels, also known as Aquacell.

They are the best option for roof garden projects due to their water retaining capability and high strength.

Applications of geodrain:

  • Parking lot floor drainage
  • Tunnel drainage
  • Under flooring and foundations in locations with high water levels
  • Behind vertical and retaining walls for surface water drainage
  • In landfills and petrochemical plants for guiding pollutants
  • Inside the internal and external tunnel walls for draining groundwater
  • In roof gardens and under green spaces and stadiums
  • Water drainage in building pits
